- Who pays for hospice services?

Premier accepts Medicare, Medicaid, private insurance and other forms of reimbursement for its services
Medicare/Medicaid:
Medicare and most state Medicaid programs offer coverage of Premier services. Since Premier accepts Medicare and Medicaid as 100 percent coverage there are no out - of -pocket expenses to patients or their loved ones for Premier Care.
For unrelated to patient's primary diagnosis, Medicare and Medicaid will to provide their normal benefits.
Private Insurance:
Since each insurance company has its own policies, Premier can contact the patient's insurer to ask about the coverage provided for hospice care.
- What is covered under the Medicare/Medicaid hospice benefit?

Premier Hospice Services will provide each patient with Durable Medical Equipment (DME) prescribed by the hospice Medical Director. Premier Hospice Services, using our hospice medication formulary, will also cover all medications related to the patient’s hospice diagnosis for the purpose of pain and symptom management. Please contact our office directly for information about specific DME and/or medications.

- All persons with a life limiting illness and the desire for palliative care versus curative care are hospice appropriate.
- Anyone with traditional Medicare benefits and has Medicare Part A has a hospice benefit through an HMO
- What medications are covered under the Medicare/Medicaid hospice benefit?
Premier Hospice Services, using our hospice medication formulary, covers all medications related to the patient’s hospice diagnosis for the purpose of pain and symptom management. Please contact our office for information about specific medications.
